Tropical Cyclones Hurricane

Hurricane is the name given to a tropical cyclone with continued winds of 74 miles per hour or more in the North Atlantic Ocean, Caribbean Sea, Gulf of Mexico, and in the eastern North Pacific Ocean. Hurricanes are known as typhoons in the western Pacific and cyclones in the Indian Ocean.

A hurricane or tropical cyclone is a warm storm system driven by thunderstorms near its center, feeding on the heat released when moist air rises and the water vapor in it condenses. The world cyclone lets us know that the storm has a rotating area at its core; its circulation is counterclockwise in the Northern Hemisphere and clockwise in the Southern Hemisphere.

Hurricanes can produce extremely strong winds, torrential rain, high waves, storm surge and even tornadoes. They form over bodies of warm water, and gradually lose strength over land, meaning coastal regions are mostly affected by hurricanes, while inland regions are relatively safe from receiving the extremely strong winds. Inland areas are also affected, heavy rains can produce major flooding, and storm surges can produce widespread flooding up to 30 km inland.

Hurricane Katrina's Effect In NO.

The storm took a deadly toll. Victims lay dead in the street and survivors trying not to be horrified by the site. It took days before victims of this terrible disaster were able to be collected. Sadly, the first deaths were reported from nursing homes where most likely they died of dehydration. Deaths were also reported at the Superdome where displaced families were just trying desperately to survive and understand the horror of what had just happened to them.

Heavy rain fell along the state. Because of heavy rain, Lake Pontchartrain rose and caused massive flooding along the northeaster shore. Bridges were destroyed and the power was out for almost 900,000 people.

The city was subjected to brutal winds and rain for hours. Katrina stormed full force and 53 levees that were to protect New Orleans failed. Roads were damaged and there was only one way out. As the winds continued and the rain fell, windows in high rise buildings were blown out.

Warning Signs Of Tsunami

Awareness of Tsunami Warning Signs is vital when travelling through or living in tsunami prone areas. An earthquake is a natural tsunami warning. If you feel a strong quake, do not stay in a place where you may be exposed to a tsunami. Listen to the radio or television for any information or alerts. If you are subscribed to TsunamiSMS make sure your mobile phone is always switched on and that the ring tone is loud enough to hear, even when you are asleep. If you have not yet taken the precaution to subscribe to TsunamiSMS, click here.

Witnesses have reported that an approaching tsunami is sometimes preceded by a noticeable fall or rise in the water level. If you see the ocean receding unusually rapidly or far it's a sign that a big wave may be on its way. Go to high ground immediately or make your way at least five kilometers inland.

Remember that a tsunami is a series of waves and that the first wave may not be the most dangerous. The danger from a tsunami can last for several hours after the arrival of the first wave. A tsunami wave train may come as a series of surges that are five minutes to an hour apart. The cycle may be marked by a repeated retreat and advance of the ocean. Stay out of danger until you hear it is safe.

Due to Global Warming And Climate Changes

How to recognize global warming
Whether or not it's brewing something good or something bad, Nature always tries to warn us through many signs. The slow process involved in global warming results in many different things and some of its signs include:

Melting of glaciers
Most of the mountain glaciers on our planet that have been monitored for the past 150 years are reportedly shrinking. The glaciers most affected by global warming those located in the lower latitudes and many of them are disappearing. If glaciers continue to shrink, it could affect water supply in areas that depend heavily upon mountain watersheds.

If the scenarios of global warming continue, most of the glaciers that still stand today will disappear by 2100.

Ocean warming
Sea level increase is attributed to warmer temperatures, which in turn result to the melting of ice glaciers. Over the last 100 years, sea level has increased from 10 cm to 25 cm. Projections over the next hundred years indicate that sea level will rise higher, from about 15 cm to 90 cm. Based on the higher figure, that's about 3 feet.

Translated, this could mean that beaches lose about 50 feet of area for every foot of increase in sea level. Some islands may even disappear beneath sea water completely.

Heat waves
Heat waves and periods of weather that are unusually warm are also signs of global warming. These may come about with varying degrees of their severity and frequency, causing concerns in the economics and health on a global scale.

How global warming brings climate change and what it means to us
The earth's climate has always been changing, although not at an abrupt rate. There had been periods of warming and cooling in the earth's 4.65 billion-year history. Strange as it may sound to some, this is the reason why life became possible on this planet millions of years ago. Unfortunately, not all of the changes in climate brought about by global warming may be beneficial to many of us.

Global Warming Definition

Global warming is the next big impact that will bring about a change in the weather patterns. By definition, Global Warming is the increase in average temperature that gradually warms the Earth’s atmosphere. It is a phenomenon, which has been on the rise but in the last century, the increase in the levels have been alarming.

The average temperature of the atmosphere has risen by 0.74 - 0.18 °C during the last century. According to the study by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), it is observed that the increase in global average temperature has been caused due to an increase in greenhouse gas concentrations. This has led to an unprecedented warming of the Earth’s surface.

The other phenomena’s responsible for global warming include volcanoes and solar variations. Base on some of the models by the IPCC, the prediction is that the global temperature is likely to rise by 1.1 to 6.4 °C between 1990 and 2100. This increase in temperature will cause climatic changes and extreme weather conditions like rising sea level, change in the amount of precipitation, above average rainfall, melting of polar ice caps and glaciers, storms and hurricanes.

Luminescent Egress Systems Are Simple

Recent developments in technology and innovation have made it possible to replace yesterday's evacuation / egress lighting systems with energy saving photo luminescent systems. These systems consist of mainly high-tech glow in the dark materials that are used to outline hand railings, door frames, steps, lettering for emergency exits, stairwell exit signs, fire exit signs and more. Building emergency lighting regulations require that all exits in public buildings be clearly identifiable in the case of power outages, or smoky conditions due to fire. With today's technology these requirements can be met without the use of electronically powered signs, or self powered radioactive systems. This in turn creates a huge savings in energy costs and greatly reduces the cost of maintenance and the hazards of handling radioactive material.

Photo luminescent systems are simply the best choice for our planet. They require no electricity or power, which greatly reduces the carbon footprint left behind by the outdated systems of yesterday. Today's systems are Eco Friendly, and they utilize materials that allow the energy from daylight and interior lighting to be absorbed and stored. This stored energy is then released as light, just like those "glow in the dark" stickers or toys that you most likely have played with as a kid. The only difference is that the technology and materials have been greatly enhanced in resent years, providing much more useful light for longer period.

Online News Reading

The unique facility of the online news sites is becoming highly popular among the masses. The main reason behind this great popularity is its feasibility.

Any person can easily access the online news just by clicking few buttons on the computer. He need not have to buy the newspaper or run the radio or the television.

Another reason for its popularity is the variety of news that it provides. The news ranges from breaking news, local news, world news, current events, economic news etc. they even have the classifieds like the student classified etc.

Thus it can be seen that any Internet user can have his daily dose of news just by browsing the net. Moreover, every primary news association has their online editions for the viewers.

Several newspapers like The Washington Post, The New York Times etc have their articles on the Internet. Even ABC (Australian Broadcasting Corporation), which is a radio broadcasting facility, has its radio reports circulated in the Internet.

Another news organization of Australia by the name of Channel Nine has even team up with the MSN for getting its articles on the net. The primary media organization of Arab by the name of Al Jazeera has a number of English news sites for the viewers to read. Though it is a controversial site but it is highly popular with the masses.

Los Angeles Tourist Attractions

Downtown L.A. has spectacular modern architecture in the swapping Walt Disney Concert Hall and the stark Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels. The music Center and the Museum of Contemporary Art make downtown the closest thing L.A. has to an arts hub. Business people flood downtown's cluster of skyscrapers and offices. Adventurous young people, artist, immigrants, and a concentrated homeless population lives in L.A. It's well worth getting out of car to explore, even if you don't think so at first sight.
Glitzy and tarnished, good and bad, fun and sad - Hollywood is just like the entertainment business itself. But they don't make many movies here anymore. The neighborhood have been slowly improving over the past decade. This brand of urban renewal mixes new with vintage: restorations of old movie palaces plus slushy new developments such as the Hollywood & Highland entertainment complex. And you can enjoy the reminders of the area's romantic past, like the Walk of Fame, Grauman's Chinese Theater, and the Hollywood Bowl.
Santa Monica is not Los Angeles and it plays by a different set of rules. The vibe here sets this city apart from L.A. proper. Stereotypical beach scenes play out almost every day, with skateboarders riding the rails, kids shrieking on the pier, and bikini babes on the sand. The Community is quite liberal and support a large homeless population. Venice, just south of Santa Monica along the coast, is more raffish mix of artist, beach freaks and yuppies, most of whom you'll see on the Venice Boardwalk. If you're not into shopping or 'the scene', take a leisurely drive up Pacific Coast Highway with the Eagles blaring on the stereo. Life is good in Malibu where the beach is king. The rich and famous hide away in their residential 'Colony ', but the rocky coves and amazing surf are open to all. And you can get a look at an extravagant residence of a different kind at the Getty Villa Malibu.

Find Inner Fulfillment in Your Life

The first thing that you must do is change the way that you think. This sounds a lot easier than it really is. It is an attitude adjustment and you might find it difficult to maintain. Once you begin, you will need to constantly check your attitude and inner thoughts to make sure that you are staying on track. Positive thinking is the way to inner fulfillment. Pay attention to your thoughts for a little while. You might be amazed at how negative your inner voice really is. It is these thoughts that bring us down and don't allow us to feel satisfied with our lives. It's time to change those thoughts and bring a positive and satisfying thought pattern into our lives.

Awareness is the first step. Once you have paid attention to the thoughts in your head, begin to make some changes to the negativity. Every time you notice a negative thought you should find a way to change it to something more positive. This will take some effort on your part. The amount of thoughts that run through your mind on any given day is astounding. You should do some checking on your thoughts periodically through the day. Ask yourself what you are thinking and make sure that it is positive.-

Life is Your Creation

It's okay to have a lot of money and live in a beautiful home, drive a nice car and all of those things. However, you have to be clear on why you want those things. Do you want these things to impress others and fill a hole within you? Or, do you want these things to feed your spirit and live a comfortable life, so that you can more clearly live your purpose to do good in the world and benefit others? We can do a lot of good in the world when we are wealthy. We also can live a very shallow and empty life when we are rich. What is driving your goals and desires, spirit or ego?

Again, to create what it is that you want in life, it is very important to be very clear on exactly what it is that you want in life. I would encourage you to take some time and get very quiet and relaxed, with a pen and paper. Take some deep breathes and close your eyes, now imagine your perfect life. What does your perfect life look like? Imagine it in great detail. What do you see? Where do you live? Are you married, if so what is your spouse like? How much money do you make monthly? What are your friends like? How does your body look and feel? What is your emotional state? What do you do for work? How do you feel? Imagine your perfect life in as much detail as possible.

Feel Save and Secure

The other side, the employee working for a large company can feel safe knowing that he is working for the largest companies in the world. "If this company fails, all will fail," they might think. "This is a lifetime job." But sometimes we cannot rationally understand the level of security, because it is not measured on a rational scale but by emotion.

Do people who are unemployed in the US feel less secure than their European counterparts, who have a more sophisticated social security system? Or do they feel safer knowing that their destiny is in their hands and not in the hand of an abstract institution?

Those who have worked for Lehman Brothers may have seen the top of the world, but how about their feelings towards safety now? Did they calculate the risk and were they prepared for this to happen?

Politics and Advertising

Researchers, lead by Bahador Bahrami, discovered that a subject's brain was able to register images that were faint or those flashed at speed if they were in their visual line of sight, even when the subject was adamant that they had not seen anything i.e. subliminal messages.

Although current psychological assumptions work on the belief that what we pay attention to and what we are aware of are the same, this study shows otherwise. Bahrami and his team have shown that we do not need to be aware of subliminal messages for them to have an affect on the brain. Even though we can be totally unaware of any images being shown to us in the form of subliminal messages, the brain is aware and registers them!

This could account for being aware of billboards on the roadside or flashing computer graphic ads on websites not to mention the use of visual subliminal messages in magazine advertisements! It could also account for the phenomenon of being in a crowed room with a lot of conversations going on and suddenly being aware of someone mentioning your name across the room!

Facial Blushing Problem?

More and more people today are experiencing facial blushing problems. It's important to note that its okay to have this problem and that you are not alone. There are entire forums dedicated to helping you with your facial blushing problems.

Facial blushing can in fact be cured. Facial blushing is basically the result of a bodily response which pumps adrenaline through the body and causes areas such as the face, neck and ears to turn red. This however can be controlled without the use of dangerous surgeries such as ETS surgery. Many people also will resort to purchasing and wearing certain creams, but these are only for temporary relief and really don't assess the problem at its source.

How to Increase Your Return at the Closing Table

First, be realistic about the price. There's a good chance that you might have bought your timeshare after having been pressured into buying. There's also a slim chance that you bought when there was more of a demand than there is today; it was the "in" thing to do. Because the market may have changed, you might not get as much cash for your timeshare. Some research indicates that the majority of people get only 50 percent of the money they spent to buy the timeshare property.

However, you could increase your percentage by keeping the timeshare well maintained and clean. The truth is, most people when they sell their timeshares sell something that is left in shambles than when they were first purchased it. The temptation is there, when you're finished using the place for a vacation, to push off cleaning or maintenance chores on the next person. Don't do it! Your laziness could end up substantially hurting chances of selling at a decent price.

Timeshare Cheatsheet Guide

Buyers new to the timeshare industry can fall prey to sleazy business tactics and end up investing a huge amount of money on purchasing timeshares, only to know later that it does not fetch a higher return. Just remember if things change in your personal life, you can always think about selling your timeshare. Because the timeshare resale market is so huge, there are companies that specialize in this type of brokerage. These companies are easy to locate, especially in popular resort areas where timeshare resorts are abundant.
Others use the timeshare for a while and then for some reason, it no longer fits in with their lifestyle -- and they also find themselves putting their vacation unit back on the market. Be aware there do exist some unattractive timeshare resorts. However, with the internet it's easy to search facts about any resort and find reviews by people who have vacationed in any of the resorts. So do your homework before you take your family or friends to a resort. Think about it. Who wants to vacation in a dingy vacation spot, even if it is in a 'resort' area? Ex-timeshare buyers can help you to make good decisions while buying a timeshare for enjoying your holiday. They can also give you tips on the best resorts to visit with your points. Just keep in mind, timeshare rentals are available all over the world, in the best Five Star Resorts, for discounted dollars, IF you know how to 'work' the point system to your greatest advantage.

Fractional Ownership in the UK

The suggested problem seems to be that fractional ownership is only suitable for resorts with year-round warm climates or places with a very long season for other reasons, e.g. Summer/Winter use of an apartment in the French alps or a city-break location. This long season would mean less pressure on the time allocation and allow smaller fractions to be practical. Of course it does help if the season is longer, but I think that what is really being said is that fractional ownership in the UK (outside of London) is not really suitable for developers looking to make huge profits.

Part of the problem is that developers often only seem to be considering a limited range of holiday experiences (basically luxury beach and/or golf) when it comes to developing fractional schemes. In the UK there are a number of existing leisure concepts which fractional developers could tempt consumers away from, the most significant being timeshare. Also as mentioned above there are a large number of second homes in the UK. The owners of these could be tempted either to sell fractions in their existing assets or to buy new fractional developments as a way of releasing capital.

From the consumers point of view the development of fractional ownership in the UK would open up the possibility of second home ownership to new groups who had not previously believed they could afford it, and had been unwilling to buy timeshare because of the bad publicity/poor investment returns.

Stay in La Manga Del Mar Menor

Are you thinking of a Spanish holiday and where to stay in La Manga del Mar Menor? This area, on Spain's Costa Cailda, enjoys a temperate climate with over 320 days of sunshine each year. It's the perfect place to get that rest and relaxation you deserve. Before you book your vacation, take the time to examine the hotels, villas and apartments in the region.

Where to stay in La Manga del Mar Menor means choosing from places like the Hotel Mangalan in Gran Via de La Manga. This hotel opened in 2005 with 142 rooms on 10 floors. The nice thing about this hotel is that all the rooms have balconies with views of the sea. Hotel Mangalan has a café, a bar and an air-conditioned restaurant for its guests. It also has conference rooms for business travelers. The hotel offers a playground area for kids. For adults it has a spa, and for everyone it has indoor as well as an outdoor rooftop pool.

The Hotel Sol Galua in La Manga del Mar Menor is in Hacienda Dos Mares. On Galua Beach next to the Plaza Bohemia Shopping Center, it is near a sailing school and tennis club. It is a good central location from which to explore Cartagena and Murcia, which are 30 kilometers and 75 kilometers away respectively.
